Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham needs to dominate against the Thunder

I already see “fans” of the Pistons talking greasy about Cade Cunningham on social media after two so-so games in the preseason. If you are one of these people, please go cheer for another team already.

While it is far too early to be concerned about Cade’s shooting, it would be nice to see him put up a dominant performance against a team that could possibly be missing its three best players, including two of the guys (SGA and Giddey) who would have been guarding him.

The Thunder don’t have anyone who can handle Cade, so this should be a good game for him to control the offense, draw in the defense, look for his own shot and set up his teammates.

For Cade to really take a leap this season, he needs to cut down on the silly turnovers and fouls, play with a little more urgency and be more aggressive getting to his spots on offense. I’d like to see him bully the smaller Thunder guards in the post and force the defense to respond.

In short, we need to see the next phase of Cade Cunningham start to emerge tonight against the Thunder and for him to start looking like the player we know he can be.
