Detroit Pistons: Possible trade with the Washington Wizards

According to HoopsHype, the Wizards would like to upgrade their roster and finally make a run at the playoffs with Bradley Beal. They are currently sixth and reportedly would dangle Will Barton, Deni Advija and Rui Hachimura.

I do think Bey is the best player of this group, but he’s hardly a huge upgrade over any of them and none of these guys are great fits on the Pistons.

Barton is an expiring contract, but making way more than Bey, so it would require another player to make the salaries work. Would the Wizards even view this as an upgrade?

The Wizards’ future picks all have protections until 2027, so it’s tough to see Detroit trading away two guys for an expiring deal and a distant pick. This trade would work, but I’m not sure it makes either team better:

I don’t know if this trade moves the needle for Washington, and they may see this as a pretty big overpay for two guys that may not even make them better.

As you can see, the trade market for Saddiq Bey is going to be complicated, as his value is at an all time low and his salary is difficult to match. Unless it’s a 3-way trade or a team is desperate enough to give up a first-round pick for Bey, it’s hard to see a clear trade with any of these teams.
