Detroit Pistons: Saddiq Bey really can’t shoot

Saddiq Bey continued his struggles from the 3-point line last night, going 0-of-5 from long range. This can no longer be written off as an “early season” thing, as we are more than 25 percent into this season so the sample size is no longer small.

After last night, Bey is shooting just 27 percent from long range, and he’s been far worse over the last nine games, as he has hit just 8-of-61 for a terrible 13 percent.

It’s been a steady decline for Bey from behind the arc, as his numbers have gotten worse each season, culminating with this one.

Bey did have a slow “start” last season as well, and eventually turned it around somewhat, so there is still time, but it really looks like he has no confidence in his shot and is even hesitant to take them.

It’s possible that Saddiq Bey’s rookie season was the anomaly here, as he’s been pretty bad since outside of a few hot streaks. The Detroit Pistons have reportedly been taking trade calls on Bey, but at this point, it would be selling way low, so they really have no choice but to wait this out and see if he can find his shot.

If Bey can’t shoot 3-pointers at all, I’m not sure what he is in this league, as his game off the bounce and in the post is not good enough to make up for it. Let’s hope Bey can start hitting them soon, as the clock is ticking on his season.
