Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs 76ers odds, Bogdanovic injury update, predictions, TV channel for Jan. 10
The Detroit Pistons will hit the road tonight to take on the 76ers for the second game in a row. Philly blew Detroit out in the last matchup after the Pistons surrendered 71 points in the first half alone.
This game has the chance to be ugly, as the 76ers eviscerated Detroit in the last game without Joel Embiid in the lineup and he could be returning to take on a historically bad defense.
On top of that, Detroit will be without leading scorer Bojan Bogdanovic, who has been the subject of a bevy of trade rumors over the last few days.
Though the injury appears to be minor, it does give credence to those who think Detroit should trade the 33-year-old while his value is high, as one major injury and they’ll be stuck with a declining asset who has already signed an extension.
Detroit is going to be shorthanded tonight and may have to eventually turn to the G-League or sign a 10-day contract with one of the available free agents to fill out their rotation.
Can Detroit get an unlikely win on the road tonight while missing their best players? Here is everything you need to know.
Detroit Pistons vs Philadelphia 76ers: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Detroit is a 10 point underdog tonight according to Fanduel, but I expect that will balloon up to 12 points or even higher by game time depending on who sits for Philly. The money lines are +390 for Detroit and -510 for Philly and there is currently no over/under for this one, as the books have no idea who is playing.
Pistons injury report: Bojan Bogdanovic update
It’s getting ugly in Detroit, as the Pistons are already without Cade Cunningham and Marvin Bagley III, and now both Bojan Bogdanovic and Jalen Duren have joined them on the bench. Isaiah Livers has been upgraded to questionable, which is a good sign that his return is imminent, but it won’t help much tonight.
Joel Embiid has been upgraded to questionable (probably wants to pad his stats for the MVP race) and PJ Tucker is listed as probable.
Detroit Pistons vs. Philadelphia 76ers: Prediction
As Clubber Lang said when asked for a prediction for his fight against Rocky Balboa, “My prediction? Pain.”
Philly had an easy victory against the Pistons in Detroit and that was with Bogdanovic in the lineup and Embiid out of it. That could all be reversed tonight, so it’s hard to see this being anything but a blowout unless Philly sits a bunch of guys to rest them or just doesn’t show up.
We are entering the ugly part of the season for Detroit where cheering for individual stats in blowouts is all we have to look forward to. Who knows, maybe Killian Hayes will have his first 40-point game. He’ll need to.
Detroit 105, Philadelphia 118
