Detroit Pistons: Could Saddiq Bey do it again?

It may take a couple years for the Detroit Pistons to catch up to this scoring boom as a team. Maybe a healthy Cade Cunningham could help boost these numbers next year.

But something that can happen realistically (kind of) on any given night is a Piston scoring 50 points.

A quick look into the history books tells us the most points scored in a single game by a Piston was 57 by Jerry Stackhouse in 2001. Seven total Detroit Pistons have scored more than 50 in a game – George Yardley, Kelly Tripucka, Dave Bing, Richard Hamilton, Jerry Stackhouse, and the most recent two, Blake Griffin and Saddiq Bey.

If the price for John Collins is this low, should the Pistons bite?. light. Related Story

There’s the simple start to this conversation. Saddiq Bey has already scored 50 points (51 to be exact) in a game last season against the Magic. He did so by making 10 three pointers, tying Joe Dumars for most in a single game for Detroit.

It is possible that Saddiq could get this hot again, despite him struggling from the perimeter this season. He has now scored more than 30 points in game eight times during his young career.

If Saddiq Bey were to score 50 points in game again, he would remove his name from an interesting list featuring Corey Brewer, Mo Williams, Terrence Ross, and Andre Miller – the most unlikely to ever score 50 points in an NBA game.
