The Detroit Pistons snapped their four game losing streak last night against the Brooklyn Nets with the kind of competitive effort fans have been asking for.
Even though the Nets were shorthanded (so were the Pistons, obviously) and on the second game of a back-to-back, it was the type of game that makes you think that the Pistons are on their way to turning the corner and may just need their star back and a few free-agent additions to finally be competitive next season.
But that won’t stop the trade rumors as the NBA trade deadline approaches, as teams across the league have been calling about Bojan Bogdanovic and recently Alec Burks has become the subject of myriad rumors as well.
Detroit Pistons: Trade rumors involving the Cavaliers continue
One of those teams was reportedly the Cleveland Cavaliers, but it’s hard to see how a trade for Bogdanovic would work, as the Cavs don’t have the first-round pick that the Pistons have demanded in any deal involving their top scorer.
In lieu of a pick, the Detroit Pistons could consider taking back a couple of players, and that idea gained some steam when Sam Amico of Hoops Wire reported that the Pistons were one of the teams that had inquired about Cleveland’s Caris LeVert, who is on the last year of his contract.
LeVert is not good enough to trade straight up for Bogdanovic, especially considering Bojan is still under contract for two more seasons (one fully guaranteed) and LeVert’s expires after this one.
The Cavaliers would have to sweeten the pot, and since they don’t have a pick, how would they do it?
