Detroit Pistons: Trade with the Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are in the bottom half of the league in 3-pointers made per game and the Detroit Pistons need defense. Here is a trade that gets each team some of each:

Okoro has been a lockdown defender for the Cavaliers and better fits the Pistons’ timeline, though Detroit giving up their best 3-point shooter who is on a team-friendly deal would be tough. I love Okoro’s defensive upside, his athleticism and possible fit with Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey.

Detroit Pistons: Trade with the Nets

The Nets could use some more scoring with Kevin Durant sidelined until after the All-Star game, and the Detroit Pistons could use a backup big man. They were mentioned as possibility for Bojan Bogdanovic by Yahoo Sports, though I see a deal like this as an extreme long shot.

Ugh. This is probably not a deal that would interest the Detroit Pistons, as they’d be taking on another year of the declining Mills and the pick is likely to be a late first-rounder. It’s more likely that any deal with the Nets would involve Alec Burks, but the Nets may balk at the price tag.
