This will be a huge offseason for the Detroit Pistons, as they will not only hire a new head coach but could see some major changes to the roster.

The coaching search is well underway, with interviews set with some of the top assistants from around the league.

The Pistons could also be very active in the free-agent market, as they have the cap space to add a top player or several mid-tier free agents to bolster their roster.

There are a few lesser-discussed players currently in the playoffs who could fill needs for the Detroit Pistons without breaking the bank.

Torrey Craig

If you’ve read my work then you know I’ve long been a fan of journeyman Torrey Craig.

He’s a tough wing defender who shot 39.5 percent from 3-point range and dropped 22 points in the Suns’ game 1 loss to the Clippers.

Craig got the start and the unenviable task of trying to defend Kawhi Leonard, who ended the game with 38 points, though they weren’t all with Craig defending him.

Despite Leonard’s huge night, Craig is the type of versatile wing defender that the Detroit Pistons need and the fact that his shooting has improved makes him even more appealing. He’s not going to be a day one free agent by any means, but Craig is a solid veteran who could help shore up the Pistons’ depth and he may attainable as an unrestricted free agent depending on what happens with the Suns.
