Former Detroit Pistons in the playoffs

Playing well or thriving

The Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are practically the Pistons 2.0, as they have four former Detroit Pistons on their playoff roster. Two of them are doing well, as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 15 points as a starter in the Nuggets opening win and Bruce Brown dropped 14 off the bench.

Mason Plumlee

The Plum Dog played well in the Clippers’ win in Game 1 over the Suns, with seven points and 11 rebounds. The Pistons probably should have just held onto Plumlee.

Trey Lyles

Trading Trey Lyles for Marvin Bagley III turned out to be Troy Weaver’s worst move in Detroit. Lyles is making less, arguably better and dropped 16 points and six boards in the Kings’ opening win over the Warriors in the playoffs.

Khris Middleton

Middleton may top the list of players the Pistons gave up on too soon, and showed exactly why in the Bucks’ game 1 loss to the Heat. With Giannis Antetokounmpo out with an injury, Middleton took over and finished the game with 33 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
