The Detroit Pistons are entering an important offseason and Troy Weaver and co. are under pressure to put a winner on the floor.

It’s been four years of tanking, and now that the Pistons have acquired some young talent to build around, it’s time to finally try and build an actual team instead of just a collection of names.

Detroit owns a top-5 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and the cap space to make moves in free agency or via trades.

The only big trade the Pistons made this season was a surprising one, as they shipped out Saddiq Bey in a deal that brought back James Wiseman, a move that is still too new to judge.

This offseason could see the Detroit Pistons trade other players to get a more balanced roster with more defense and talent on the wing. Here are three players who raised their value in the 2022-23 season and could be on the market.

Killian Hayes

I know a LOT of people would disagree with this, as Killian Hayes is still the league’s worst shooter and didn’t have the breakout year we were hoping for.

But he did set career highs in points, assists and games played and stepped into a starting role after the Pistons suffered myriad injuries.

He at least showed that he can be a backup point guard in the right situation and is still just 21-years-old. Is his trade value high? Nope.

But it’s slightly higher than it was coming into the season and Hayes now at least has the reputation of being a quality defender and passer if nothing else.

This would still be selling low on a guy who has not lived up to being the 7th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, but his value is slightly higher than it was last offseason, which isn’t saying much.
