Detroit Pistons: 5 Free agent targets that would complement Victor Wembanyama

3. Jerami Grant

After departing the Motor City in summer 2022 to the Portland Trail Blazers, Jerami Grant could be a prime candidate to return come the end of the season. While Piston fans did not mind seeing Grant leave since it ultimately led to Jalen Duren, there is a world in which it makes sense for him to return.

Averaging 20.5 points and shooting a career-high 40 percent from three, Grant would be an excellent three-and-D player to add to this roster, especially if the team is dead set on moving on from Bojan Bogdanovic.

In terms of how Grant could be a good fit around Wembanyama, it would give the Pistons an established offensive player to take pressure off of Wemby. There is certainly the chance that Victor could enter the league and be a huge scoring threat from day one, but there is also a reasonable possibility that he will take some time to get used to the NBA game.

With a reliable 20-point scorer on the roster, Wemby’s development would be aided. And in a world where Victor becomes a legitimate number one option from day one, it would give Detroit even more firepower as well as a long wing defender.
