The Detroit Pistons missed the playoffs for the 4th year in a row, so all we can do is watch from the sofas and wait for the NBA Draft Lottery.

The NBA Playoffs have been great so far, as we seen some big upsets and watched certain teams eat a big helping of humble pie.

That’s precisely what happened to the two-seed Memphis Grizzlies last night, as their season-long hubris finally caught up with them in the form of a 40-point beatdown that ended their season.

I can’t stand the Lakers, but it was somewhat satisfying to see the Grizzlies, a team that has talked greasy all season, take the L while their fans complained about injuries and how Luke Kennard might have been the difference. Uh huh, I’m sure Luke would have dropped 40 easily.

The Grizzles learned a powerful lesson, which is that you had better actually win something before you talk so much trash. Dillon Brooks was especially egregious, calling out LeBron (genius move) while bombing in the series himself.

The Grizzlies win the award for misguided hubris, but one Lakers’ fan came in a close second in one of the funniest moments of the season.

Lakers’ fan tries to become legend, instead becomes meme

A Lakers’ fan tried to steal some of the Grizzlies’ thunder last night during a halftime competition in which he was tasked with scoring 10 points in 30 seconds. Cooper (of course his name is Cooper) who looks like (and has the attitude of) the 4th Ball brother, decided not to use the full 30 seconds to get his points and instead spent the time trying (and failing) to hype up the crowd before taking a last-second, 10-point shot.

This “born ready” brick is going to be used as a meme for years to come for anyone who talked trash and celebrated before actually doing anything.

I have to give Cooper credit, my man had his shot to become a legend and he took it, unfortunately for him, he’ll now be forever immortalized as the next Nick Young, the guy who celebrated before the shot actually went in.

Cooper stole the laughs at the halftime show, but it was the Lakers who got the last laugh on the Grizzlies, whose nonstop trash talk this season is now being thrown in their faces.
