Detroit Pistons: 5 predictions for the 2023 NBA Draft

#2: Cam Whitmore falls, possibly out of the top-10

Again, this could all be smoke and teams hiding their true intentions, but it sounds like Whitmore may be the prospect to fall the most from his pre-draft rankings. Reports have said that he had a sub-par workout with the Detroit Pistons, who have decided to go in another direction. That could all be BS and Whitmore may be a Rocket or Piston by the end of the night, but it sounds like he might be the one to drop.

If Anthony Black goes to Orlando, then the depressing Wizards may take Whitmore as the highest-ceiling guy, someone they can at least try and sell to their poor fans. If not, he could fall out of the top-10, as the teams choosing next have specific needs they will be looking to fill.

#3: Dereck Lively II, Kobe Bufkin and Taylor Hendricks are the risers

Hendricks looks like a lock for the top-10, but Lively III and Bufkin have been moving up draft boards of late and one of them could be the one to supplant Whitmore in the top-10 if he does fall that far.

Last year I picked Tari Eason as my sleeper and this year that honor goes to Taylor Hendricks, who should be a solid two-way forward right away. His length and efficiency from the 3-point line will make him the guy some teams regret passing on.
