The greatest Detroit Pistons of all time by height
Detroit Pistons: Greatest player at each height
6’1″
Isiah Thomas
We can get to the man, the myth, and the legend – Isiah Thomas, himself. “Zeke,” won two rings as the captain of one of the NBA’s greatest teams. The Bad Boys would have been just plain “Bad” had Thomas not been there to demand excellence from his teammates.
Widely regarded as the best little man to ever play the game of basketball (an arguably subjective and relative term I should add, as I too am 6’1” and yet did not make this list). Thomas was so good. So good that it’s hardly necessary to point out more than the obvious.
He spent his entire career with the Pistons, offering up averages of 19.2 ppg and 9.3 assists per game for his entire 979-game regular season career. Across 111 games in the playoffs, he may have been even better. His average of 20.4 ppg, 8.9 apg, and 4.7 rpg came during an era when numbers were hard to come by and wins even harder. Isiah Thomas went head-to-head with Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and scores of others to earn his accolades. Each and every one of those foes spent more time looking up to the 6’1” lion far more than any of them would care to admit.
