The Detroit Pistons think they have the core of their team in place, but there are still a lot of questions surrounding the roster.

That’s why when you look at every player’s chance to be with the team in a year, the percentages range widely from Cade Cunningham down to Killian Hayes and James Wiseman.

Detroit also has veterans in Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks and possibly Joe Harris, that contending teams will want, to go along with young project players that might appeal to rebuilding franchises.

That’s a recipe for a trade at some point next season and the Detroit Pistons will once again be a centerpiece in rumors.

5 teams that might try to trade for Detroit Pistons next season

Washington Wizards: James Wiseman and Killian Hayes

The Wizards are finally rebuilding after trading Bradley Beal and are thin at both point guard and center, two positions where the Detroit Pistons have a surplus. That’s why some Wizards’ sites are calling Detroit a team to watch for future trades with Washington, who has an interesting group of forwards that could help balance the Pistons’ roster.

Portland Trail Blazers: James Wiseman

This will be connected to the Damian Lillard trade if it ever happens. Once the Blazers move Lillard, they will be in full-blown rebuild mode around Scoot Henderson. They could use depth at center and why not take a flyer on a guy with big-time upside who would fit their new timeline?

Milwaukee Bucks: Alec Burks or Bojan Bogdanovic

The Bucks have to be feeling some amount of pressure after public comments Giannis Antetokounmpo has made about the direction of the franchise. He’ll soon be a free agent and they will be desperate to bolster the roster around him. They likely won’t have enough to trade for Bogdanovic but adding a shooter like Burks would help their cause.

Los Angeles Lakers: Bojan Bogdanovic

The Lakers are in a similar situation, as this is their last guaranteed year of LeBron James, who could flee to play for whatever team drafts his son. They want to win a title right now and will look to add more veteran contributors who can spread the floor around LeBron and AD. After some savvy signings this offseason, they may have the ammo to finally land Bogdanovic, who they’ve been chasing since last season.

Golden State Warriors: Alec Burks

The Warriors are another team whose window is closing. It’s all about whether they trust their young players to be the sidekicks of the Big 3 or if they will finally start dealing some of them for veteran players that can help them right now.

A lot of this will depend on where the Detroit Pistons are in the standings next season, but they have the types of players that are going to attract both the contenders and bottom feeders next season.
