3 former players the Detroit Pistons will miss this season

Bruce Brown

The Detroit Pistons are hoping that Isaiah Livers can emerge as the glue guy off the bench, the player who helps connect the team on offense and defense and does all of the little things that contribute to winning.

Bruce Brown played that role admirably for the Denver Nuggets last season, helping them to win a title before signing a big free-agent deal with the Pacers.

Guys like Brown make life easier for everyone else, as he can play 3-4 spots, defend all over the court and make it easier for coaches to find mismatches.

Detroit doesn’t really have anyone like him (yet), though Ausar Thompson will certainly make an impact off the bench (if he doesn’t start right away).

Teams need tough veterans who don’t care about stats and will do whatever it takes to win, which is a good description of Bruce Brown.

He’s the type of player that will help a young team turn the corner, which is what the Pacers are hoping will happen in Indiana.
