Is Jalen Duren playing tonight? How to watch Pistons vs. Thunder
The Detroit Pistons will head to Montreal for their preseason matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The game is part of the NBA Canada Series and will feature some of the most exciting young talent in the game with Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey and Ausar Thompson taking on Josh Giddey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren.
The two big storylines for the Pistons so far are injuries (shocker!) and starting lineups, as Monty Williams made some waves by suggesting second-year guard Jaden Ivey wasn’t going to be in it.
The Pistons have already lost Isaiah Livers for 6-8 weeks, and Bojan Bogdanovic and Monte Morris both sat out the first preseason game vs. the Suns. So now everyone wants to know if Jalen Duren is injured and whether he’ll be in the lineup tonight.
Is Jalen Duren playing tonight? Pistons injury report vs. OKC Thunder
There is still no official report from the team, but both Bojan Bogdanovic and Jalen Duren are still listed as day-to-day, so I would not expect to see them in action tonight. Duren had to leave the game after tweaking his ankle against the Suns.
The CBS injury report says that Duren is “questionable for the start of the season” but we’ve yet to have that confirmed by the team. This would be a huge blow for a young team trying to build chemistry and continuity, as Duren hasn’t played much with Cade Cunningham and needs those reps.
The OKC Thunder have Shai Gilgeous-Alexande and Vasilije Micic listed as day-to-day. Aleksej Pokusevski is out at least six weeks after spraining an ankle in an offseason workout, which is a big setback for a guy who is extension-eligible and could become a free agent next offseason.

Pistons starting lineup and depth chart if Jalen Duren is out
It’s hard to say what Monty Williams is up to with his starting five, as he has been dropping hints all over the place and may be using preseason to motivate some of his young players. If Bojan Bogdanovic and Monte Morris are out again, here is what the depth chart might look like:
- Cade Cunningham/Killian Hayes
- Alec Burks/Jaden Ivey
- Ausar Thompson/Joe Harris
- Isaiah Stewart
- Marvin Bagley III/James Wiseman
The Pistons’ depth is already being tested and we haven’t even reached the regular season yet, so lets hope some of these players will be back in the lineup tonight or very soon so Detroit can ramp up for the regular season.
