The Detroit Pistons continue their Western Conference road trip tonight against the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors beat the Pistons in their first meeting, but both teams have made roster changes and some of the guys Detroit faced are now coming off their bench.
Dennis Schroder and Lindy Waters III combined for 24 points against the Pistons in the game back in January but are now both playing for Detroit after they were flipped at the trade deadline.
The Warriors have added Jimmy Butler and have been rolling since, so these are not the same two teams that played earlier in the season.
This will be a big test for Detroit, as the Warriors are playing well and now look like a solid playoff team after spending most of the season on the fringes.
The Pistons should have most of their roster available and would love to steal one on the road before heading to Portland on Sunday.
Pistons injuries vs. Warriors: Is Tobias Harris playing tonight?
Tobias Harris has missed the last two games for personal reasons but has been upgraded to probable for tonight, so he should be back.
That’s good news for the Pistons, as they are paper thin at power forward and don’t really have an adequate replacement for what Harris brings to the lineup.
Harris has been the guy who stabilizes this group in the half court, where they have struggled without him.
The Warriors will be missing Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski is listed as questionable.
With or without their young talents, this game will be about stopping Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler, who have been on a tear since joining forces.
Curry has been on fire, averaging 30.8 points, 6.4 assists and 4.5 rebounds since Butler joined the team and he’s shooting 42.2 percent on nearly 13 attempts from long range.
The Pistons will likely try to get physical with Curry by using bigger defenders on him to see if Ausar Thompson and Cade Cunningham can slow him down, so Detroit needs to play physical, aggressive defense without fouling, which will be a challenge against the savvy Warriors.
