Former Detroit Pistons who took home gold in the Olympics

Grant Hill - 1996 Atlanta Olympics (USA)
One of the greatest Pistons of all time and an absolute stud prior to unfortunate injuries, Grant Hill can also add an Olympic gold medalist to his stacked resumé. Hill competed as a youngster for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic team, in which he had the fifth-highest scoring average on the team at 9.7 while also leading in steals with 18. Needless to say, Grant Hill was one of the most important players on that '96 team that brought home the gold at only 24 years-old.
As said above, Hill is one of the best players to every wear the Piston jersey. In his six seasons in the Motor City, he averaged 21.6 PPG while also winning (Co) Rookie of the Year, making five all-star appearances along with five All-NBA appearances. In the Duke standout's mind, however, the gold might be the best of all.
Christian Laettner - 1992 Barcelona Olympics (USA)
"The Dream Team" USA Basketball team in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics is arguably, if not, the most prolific and star-studded rosters ever put together in basketball history. Most known for including players like Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, the team also had one college standout and former Piston in Christian Laettner. Laettner, only 23 years-old out of Duke University, averaged 4.8 PPG along with 2.5 RPG for the Dream Team, helping USA bounce back and win gold after failing to do so in the games prior.
As for his career as a Piston, he didn't necessarily live up to "Dream Team" standards, but he did manage to average a solid 11.5 PPG with 6.2 RPG to go along with it. An above-average career at best, but Laettner has something most NBA players don't, an Olympic gold medal.
