Is Isaiah Stewart playing tonight? Pistons injuries vs. Pacers
The All-Star break is finally over and the Detroit Pistons will get back to work tonight against the Indiana Pacers on the road.
The Pistons have nothing but question marks for the 28 games remaining this season, and most of them revolve around head coach Monty Williams and his wonky rotations.
Will we finally see a healthy team focused on 9-10 players trying to stay competitive and win games or the one that looked like a preseason mess running out 13 guys and getting washed in the two games before the break?
The Pistons could have a nice little rivalry with the Pacers, and that probability was kicked up by a recent encounter between Jaden Ivey and Bennedict Mathurin during the Rising Stars game.
But none of that will matter until Detroit consistently competes and that starts with getting all of their players back on the floor.
Pistons injuries vs. Pacers: Will Isaiah Stewart be back in the lineup?
The Pistons and Isaiah Stewart are still awaiting the results of his court date for misdemeanor assault after he allegedly punched Drew Eubanks before a game with the Suns.
The league hasn't handed out any punishment yet, so Stewart is listed as questionable for tonight, still getting over an ankle injury. The Pistons may get him back for a game or two just to lose him to suspension anyway.
Quentin Grimes is listed as doubtful for tonight's game and still hasn't suited up for the Pistons, which is mildly concerning. Even though Grimes is under contract for next season, it would be nice to see how he fits with the core over these last two months of games.
Cade Cunningham is listed as probable for tonight, which is also mildly concerning, as he's been nursing a left knee issue in the same leg on which he had off-season surgery. I'm sure the Pistons will be careful with Cade and we may see him held out of back-to-backs (Detroit has four remaining).
Fans would love to see competitive basketball down the stretch to start building some momentum and hope for next season, but even the most optimistic predictions involve a whole lot of losing, as the Pistons have a tough schedule remaining.
