Updated Detroit Pistons lottery odds for each pick
Unfortunately, the NBA lottery has become the thing that fans of the Detroit Pistons most look forward to.
While other teams are preparing for the playoffs, the Pistons are deciding who they will send to the lottery as their good luck charm this season.
Just like last year, the Detroit Pistons finished with the worst record in the league, which guarantees that they will land in the top five again.
But beyond that, nothing is given, as we all know after falling to the 5th pick last year in the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes after finishing at the bottom of the league.
It’s official, the Detroit Pistons are there again and their odds for each pick in the NBA Draft are set.
Detroit Pistons lottery odds for each pick
The good news is that the Pistons have max odds for the number one pick again this offseason. The bad news is that even the best odds only give you a 14 percent chance and this draft doesn’t have consensus player at the top. The other bad news is that the Pistons are far more likely to end up choosing 5th again than they are to land the top pick.
Here are the odds for picks 1-5:
-#1: 14%
-#2: 13.4%
-#3: 12.7%
-#4: 12%
-#5: 47.9%
As you can see, the Pistons have a 52.1 percent chance of landing in the top four, but a. 47.9 percent chance of getting the 5th pick again, by far the highest odds of any individual pick.
There is a fair chance the Pistons will trade their pick depending on where it lands, though the value of that pick will not be as high as it has been in the past. There is also a good chance that the best player in this draft is taken outside the top five or even top ten players, as you can’t get agreement on anything with this group.
The draft is already a crapshoot, but this is like throwing blind at a moving dartboard and hoping something hits, long odds even for an event already steeped in uncertainty.
So buckle up, this is going to be a wild offseason and we could see more change to the Detroit Pistons than we’ve seen in the last three seasons combined.
