As first reported by Fox Sports Ohio reporter Sam Amico, the Pistons are getting ready to make a “serious charge” for Nuggets forward Andre Iguodala. Of all the pending free agents on the market, Iggy is the best fit for Detroit. He fills a much needed position, small forward, adds loads of athleticism on the wing, and can take the scoring load off of Greg Monroe.

The Pistons also have recently hired his former head coach, Mo Cheeks. The sense of comfort of Cheeks in Motown may put the Pistons higher on Iguodala’s wish list than many other interested parties. A downside to signing Iggy to a long term deal is his age. He is 29 now, and will turn 30 before the season ends, and signing him to a 4 year deal may come back to haunt the Pistons if his athleticism starts to go down the drain in a few years. But expect the Pistons to throw a lot of money at Iggy to try and secure his services (the Joe D way).

Value: 4 years – $60 million
