On Wednesday the NBA released the full schedule for the 2015-16 season, and as a result we now have access to the Detroit Pistons schedule.

There are a few interesting things we can determine by looking over the schedule, including the fact that it looks like the NBA has done away with scheduling four games in five nights.

That scheduling quirk won’t be missed by players who often seem like exhausted zombies by the end of those stretches, and it shouldn’t be missed by fans due to the fact that it allows the schedule to be more balanced.

As for the Pistons schedule in particular, the season opener will be played in Atlanta against the Hawks on October 27th, and the Pistons home opener will be played the following night at the Palace on October 28th against the Utah Jazz.

The Jazz have long fared better against the Pistons than their respective records usually would lead you to expect, and they come into this season with a great deal of buzz thanks to a hot finish to last season.

They have a roster that may be in some flux due to a season ending injury to poing guard Dante Exum, which might lead to former Michigan Wolverine Trey Burke being moved back into the starting lineup. More likely, however, the Jazz will make another move to strengthen the backcourt before the beginning of the season.

The Pistons also have four games on NBA TV: February 1st at Brooklyn, March 6th against Portland, March 25th against Charlotte, and April 2nd at Chicago.

Aside from the opener and the home opener, there are several other games on the 2015-16 schedule that are worth some extra attention.
