Grading the Pistons offseason

Drafting Stanley Johnson with the eighth overall pick.

As with any rookie not named LeBron James, we’re going to have to take a wait-and-see approach to this one before we try and set anything in concrete, but this is the move I am the most excited about. He should provide some improved perimeter defense from the turnstiles we saw at small forward last year, and if his recent summer league performance is any indication, his shooting may be coming around as well.

He shot 47.8% from the field last year and 37.1% from three-point range so if he can adjust to NBA distance we could be looking at a budding star.

This move gets an A.
