The Hawks added Tiago Splitter and Tim Hardaway Jr. They did lose Demarre Carroll but a healthy Thabo Sefolosha should fill most of the void left for less than a third of the cost. They should be consistent enough to be in the race for home court advantage throughout the eastern conference playoffs.

There is a question mark over Kyle Korver’s ankle and whether or not he will return in time for the season opener. Any prolonged absence from the three-point marksman will be cause for concern but the pick-up of Hardaway Jr should help cushion the blow.

Having said that, he will need to show a significant improvement at the defensive end to play any meaningful minutes for an Eastern Conference contender like the Hawks.

It’ll be tough to match the 60 wins from a season ago, but they should be good enough for around 55 wins and a spot in the top two or three in the East.
