Shooting guards

Without seeing starting lineups, the projected starters of Evan Fournier and Bruce Brown are likely out of play. Fournier is a 3-point shooter that doesn’t add a ton of volume in other fantasy metrics. His ability to hit 3-pointers does add a nice bonus for DraftKings players. Brown could take away several steals but his inability to score, though he’s expected to improve, is reason enough to stay away even at near-minimum salary levels.

Building block

DK: Luke Kennard ($4,800 – value at 24 DKFP)
FD: None.

Fitting Kennard into the DraftKings lineup is a lot easier considering he’s close to the more expensive floor. That makes him attractive, especially considering he averaged 30.5 DKFP without Blake Griffin in the first round series sweep to the Milwaukee Bucks. But that also came in 35 minutes and 27 minutes, which is far more than he’ll likely receiver.

Is Luke Kennard the next Manu Ginobili?. light. analysis

He is due for an increased role with ball-handling responsibilities, even alongside Rose, and should become the go-to scorer. His 3-point ability is an asset and could add up if his shot is on.

Values

DK: Wesley Iwundu ($4,000 – value at 20 DKFP)
FD: Markelle Fultz ($3,500 – value at 17.5 FDFP) or Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk ($3,500)

Wesley Iwundu isn’t the most attractive option, except for in a preseason setting. He scored 10 points on seven shots in the Magic’s opener and had a steal, block, assist and rebound. That nearly reaches value on DraftKings and, against the Pistons’ weakest position off the bench, he will likely be in a prime opportunity again.

If we like Fultz at $4,500 on DraftKings, then $3,500 on FanDuel is a slam dunk. Mykhailiuk is a 3-point marksman, which he showed in Saturday’s scrimmage. Casey has hinted at him becoming a point guard at some point and this could be an opportunity to get him so minutes against Carter-Williams.

Fades

If they aren’t mentioned above, they’re likely not playable. The exception is those on DraftKings that we’ve already discussed with point guards – Jackson and Rose.
