Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers DFS advice and analysis for Oct. 23
Small forwards
The Pistons-Pacers season opener provides slim pickings at small forward. There’s a lot of crossover of players previously mentioned. Let’s dive in quickly.
On FanDuel, Kennard is the only option. He’s priced at $4,100 (value at 20.5 FDFP), which is great value given his ability to create for himself and others with the ball in his hands. He could score 20 points and exceed value pretty quickly.
Fade
T.J. Warren – $5,400 on DraftKings (value at 27 DKFP) or $6,200 on FanDuel (value at 31 FDFP)
The value doesn’t seem to be there for Warren. Even in a depleted Phoenix Suns frontcourt last season, Warren only hit value when he scored 20-or-more points. He isn’t a great shot creator and he won’t be called on to do that a lot with Brogdon and Lamb in the Pacers backcourt. Warren’s rebounding is likely to have a lower ceiling playing alongside Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner.
Other options: Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk ($3,000 on DraftKings) only needs 15 DKFP to hit value and he could see a minutes bump with Griffin out, or if this game gets out of hand early. He didn’t have a great preseason but the Pistons like his upside so he’s sure to get garbage time minutes to see what he can do, despite not having a great preseason.
