64. . Point guard . Detroit Pistons. LaMelo Ball . 4. player

No matter who it is, the Pistons are going to use their only draft pick this season on a point guard. The only thing that will vary is who they select, which will be contingent on their position in the order.

If they’re picking fourth overall, Ball could be their man.

People have been split on him for years now, largely due to his erratic shot selection and his proneness to being irresponsible with the ball in his hands. Sometimes he tends to be flashier than what is needed.

Despite that, he’s still one of the more impressive passers in the entire class. He’s seamlessly able to string together multiple moves that creates a shot for himself. He’s a gifted scorer and although his shot is unorthodox, when it’s effective, it’s effective.

He’d compliment players like Luke Kennard and Sekou Doumbouya well. His quick first step off the dribble combined with his near-elite court vision could turn him into a star at the next level. He locates shooters without any effort.

Ball shouldn’t necessarily be labeled a project, but he certainly needs to clean up a lot of his game. He needs to focus on controlling his shot volume along with making safer passes, not flashier ones.
