Detroit Pistons: Can Hamidou Diallo shoot?

When the Pistons traded for Hamidou Diallo they knew they were getting an athletic player who can defend and run the floor.

The knock against him has always been that he is not a very good shooter, but since coming to the Pistons he looks like Stephen Curry.

Diallo has hit 58 percent of his 3-point shots since coming to the Pistons and if you didn’t know any better, you’d say he was a good shooter based on his numbers and form.

Obviously Diallo is not going to keep this up for an extended amount of time and he is shooting a low volume, but the numbers and eye test have been pretty encouraging.

Diallo has not hesitated when he’s had open looks and he looks to have plenty of confidence in his shot.

If he can develop a long-range shot, this completely changes the ceiling of what he can be as a player, as he is already a talented defender, rebounder, shot blocker and rim runner.

The only thing holding him back from being a starting-caliber shooting guard is his shot, which looks to be getting better.

It’s a small sample size, but Diallo has been knocking them down and if this continues, he will have a big advantage over Josh Jackson in their competition for minutes.
