Detroit Pistons: Jerami Grant trade to the Sacramento Kings

I have to be honest, I have no idea why the Kings are linked to Grant, as he just doesn’t seem like the type of player that is going to move the needle for them.

The Kings have underperformed this season, as they have a load of talent and were expected to compete for a playoff spot.

They might just want to blow this team up, trade guys like Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield and start their rebuild (again) around Tyrese Haliburton and De’Aaron Fox.

If that is the case, I don’t see how Jerami Grant makes sense for them, as they already have a similar veteran player in Barnes.

But they might feel like Grant is a guy who can help turn their culture around, who knows, I honestly have no idea what the Kings are up to in some of these rumors.

They’ve been tied to everyone from Ben Simmons to CJ McCollum to John Collins, so this is probably just the Kings doing their homework on guys they deem available.

If the Kings aren’t interested in another middling first-round pick and aren’t that high on Mitchell (seems like they are though), then this trade makes sense, as it adds another veteran contributor who could help push them into the play-in this season and maybe the playoffs next season.

But what about the Pistons? Is this the best they can do for Jerami Grant?
