Player the Detroit Pistons should target in trade with Bucks
Which Bucks young player should intrigue the Detroit Pistons?
Rookie forward MarJon Beauchamp would at the top of my list should Detroit target a young player from Milwaukee in a future trade.
Beauchamp was the 24th pick in this past NBA Draft, and has a wealth of professional experience compared to other rookies after spending last season with the G League Ignite.
With the Bucks, Beauchamp is averaging 15 minutes per game, along with 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds. Of course, this isn’t a huge role for the rookie given the situation that he’s in. However, he has found a way to take advantage of the minutes that he has been given.
He’s been asked to start in eight games for Milwaukee this year, being able to find some additional scoring when given a heavier load of minutes.
As a whole, Beauchamp is a positive contributor for the Bucks, however they may be willing to part with him should they be able to bring back a more ‘win-now’ piece in exchange.
For the Detroit Pistons, Beauchamp certainly fits the organization’s timeline better than Bogdanovic, however he is more of a long-term project piece. Detroit needs veterans in the locker room to help grow their already in-house young core. Having a player who can shoot in the fashion that Bogdanovic does, combined with his NBA experience, makes the Pistons price for Bojan high.
Beauchamp does theoretically fill one of the Pistons’ biggest needs, as they need more athleticism and defense on the wing and he projects as a guy who could supply it.
But does a trade really work?
