Damion James — Small Forward
Any time you can add a veteran player to your Summer League team at no expense, it’s a win. Playing in part with the Spurs and the Texas Legends of the D-League last year, James had what could be a breakout season that leads to a spot on an NBA roster.
James has yet to catch his break in the NBA, but has proven he belongs in the league.
Before being signed by the Spurs at the end of the season, James had a fantastic 14 game stretch with the Developmental League’s Texas Legends.
James scored 21 points per game while shooting 44% from three point territory and 47% from the field. Not only did the former Texas Longhorn shoot it well. He also grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out 3 assists per game.
James is known for his high energy and physical play.
If he plays well enough, it’s those two characteristics that should keep him inside of the organization.
